A GOOD .41 (COLT) FIVE-SHOT POCKET-REVOLVER, MODEL 'NEW-LINE', serial no. 8546,
circa 1877, with tapering round 2 1/4in. barrel, the underside of muzzle stamped 'PAT SEPT 15 1874', crescent fore-sight, the top of barrel signed 'COLTS PT FA MFG CO, HARTFORD CT USA' on two lines, the left side of barrel etched 'COLT NEW 41', fluted cylinder, London proofs, solid frame with blued screws and fitted with a loading gate, blued hammer with polished sides, blued spur-trigger, smooth rosewood birdshead grips, factory nickel finish, some frosting but generally the whole in fine condition and appearing little used
